Our expert, Graeme Hull, has a great deal of experience of the local wildlife (both flora and fauna) and knows the best places to look. For many years Graeme has explored Caithness and the North of Scotland in a professional and voluntary capacity and wildlife is his passion which he is eager to share.

Wick, the historic county town of Caithness was founded by Vikings and transformed by the herring fishing industry in the 19th century. Our guide will explain the herring fishing industry and how it dominated the economy of the area. Wick is also home to "Old Pulteney", a very distinctive and increasingly well known whisky and no Scottish holiday can be complete without a distillery tour.

The Orkneys are a complete holiday in themselves with many interesting ancient and war-time sites as well as the varied landscape and birdlife of its many islands. We aim to show you some of the highlights of our dearly loved neighbour across the Pentland Firth. The ferry trip itself is a delight with glorious views and the possibility of spotting dolphins and whales.

The coast road from Thurso towards the majestic hills of Sutherland is a "must see" journey, passing the famous "dome" of Dounreay, many golden sandy beaches as well as magnificent sea and cliff views.

Stopping at villages, viewpoints and the RSPB centre at Forsinard you will learn about how the Highland Clearances shaped the area and see the unique wilderness of the "flow country", recently shown on the BBC series "Nature of Britain"
