Fishing may be a difficult and dangerous job but bringing the catch on shore was no easy matter as you will see at the 365 steps of "Whaligoe" our first main stop of the day. The precarious steps taken by heavily laden men, and more often than not women, shows how tough "life on the edge" could be.

(Unfortunately due to the nature of this location we do not recommend you use these steps and our guide will not go down if you choose to do so.)

The fishing theme continues with a visit to the Wick Heritage Museum and harbour.

We are very lucky in having such a great local whisky in "Old Pulteney". The tour of the distillery explains the story of this classic Scotch whisky and you can sample the product too. Take a little home with a free miniature bottle.

Before returning to Thurso we will visit the ruins of Sinclair & Girnigoe Castles perched on the edge of the cliffs and a beautiful setting.

Tour leaves Thurso about 9am and returns at about 5pm
